About me

Hej there! I’m Chris

– founder and photographer behind Sturmsucht, your elopement photographer in Hamburg.

Nerd at heart, happy & social introvert, with a great love for the north, for authentic people who go their own way and for my cat Mikkel.

I feel at home in the far north with its untouched landscapes, it is my inspiration. Here, among the vast, unspoiled forests, high mountains and rugged coastlines, the soft light of an endless summer evening and the darkness of a gathering storm, I find my stories - and my centre.

My values

I believe in authenticity, honesty and mutual respect. My inner drive is to support others in their pursuit of individuality and to help them see themselves in their true beauty. In a world that often emphasises superficiality, I value the authenticity, closeness and intimacy that comes when we are brave enough to show ourselves as we really are: open, vulnerable, human.

Raw and real

My style is timeless, more moody and with rich shadows. I find beauty in the most rugged moments - whether on the windswept coast or in the dense forest. My couples? Courageous individualists who celebrate their love beyond the clichés.

For you and your no. 1

They often prefer a blustery north wind to a hot summer breeze. They know that rain on their wedding day is not a bad omen, but a sign of authenticity - and see it as a gift. They are people who find their strength in the quiet, deep and meaningful moments. Couples who celebrate their wedding the way they want to, far from society's expectations. Not because it's "the way", but because they follow their hearts. Free, radical and self-determined.

Nerd at heart

As a child growing up in the 80s and 90s, I spent my days in the forests of Endor and sailing the islands around Mêlée Island, long before I ever thought of going on real adventures. While I was searching for treasure in lost caves with Lady Croft and Dr Jones Jr, I was fighting crime in Gotham City. Even then, my heart beat not just for adventure, but for the epic stories, dark heroes and worlds that only true nerds know and love.

Photography has been a part of my life since the age of twelve. Before it became my profession, computer science was my home. First as a web developer in the front & back end, later in the depths of product management, photography always offered me a creative balance to the world of logic & structure. Then as now, my heart beats for bits & bytes, open source, secure communication and digital empowerment.
